Cancellation policies

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE POLICIES ARE FOR LOCAL EVENTS where I am not booking hotels and flights. If you are flying me to your event, please reach out to me for my current out of town cancellation policies.
There are a few situations where your deposit is transferrable, and a few where it is returnable.
I am happy to hold a date for you, and can’t wait for you to see how much fun your guests have! Because holding dates means turning down all other offers, I do require a deposit to block off a date.
Blocking off time to get to your event, and perform for you means turning down other offers for your time slot, as well as the surrounding time slots (so I can travel to you). I will turn down all other offers in that window, including any offers for bigger / higher paying contracts. Once I am committed to you, I cannot take another event anywhere in the world on the date of your event.
If I have turned down other inquires for your date, your deposit is not returnable (but may be transferrable).
If I have NOT turned down other inquiries for your date, your deposit is refundable.
If I am able to salvager the time slot by booking another event on the time I held for you, your deposit is refundable.
If you need to cancel, you can do one of the following.
- Transfer your deposit to ONE other date within 365 days of your original event date. If you cancel the second date, you will forfeit your deposit.
- Transfer your deposit to a VIRTUAL magic show.
- Transfer it to a friend having an event within 365 days of your original event date.Things to keep in mind: Pricing is based on audience size, prep time required, format, time of week and time of year. If any of those details have changed, the new date you prefer may or may not be available at the rate of your original event. I will help you find a new date if this happens.
Thanks for understanding my cancellation policy. These policies allow keep my rates reasonable for you. If I did not have these rates in place, I would have to raise my rates across the board to eat the cost of cancellations.
